Nice. I've passed up a few of these over the years. But lately, the more I look, the more I like. I might have to rethink these now.

I passed up one last year at the flea because it was dirty and I wasn't really looking for one but now I wish I would have picked it up.

+1 it looks more modern than it is, and great on batteries. Not too heavy also, so good to carry around.

I have one I've taken everywhere with me over the past few years.

Looked like this when I first got it, now it's totally beat up!

I bought one from German eBay, sounds fine and the midbass has a lot of thump! One thing though, I can't get the "+3" leds to lit no matter how high levels I use for the input. At least it looks like they should lit as all the 4 leds can be lit constantly with high levels, but not the last ones.

Got this with me on my weekend trip to Lapland. Oh boy the afterparty on the street with this thing! Though it was hooked up to a mp3 player with a loong cord and not enough output for the leds to flash properly

Any tips for the deck motor? It spins all the time when power is on!

Maybe dirty contacts on one of the cassette deck microswitches? Not sure... Maybe disconnect the tape deck if you're only using an MP3.

How loud do other people's 3D80s go? Mine distorts pretty badly at 3/4 volume on AC and batteries. Is this how they all are?

I use the deck, both of them

I haven't noticed any bad distortion. Actually I think the low end (EQ) can be cranked pretty hard without distortion. With the bass turned down a bit its really loud.

I have one 3d80s, I bought it at a stall for 3 euro , the seller told me it did not work well. everything works really really well! had only a spider in the cassette holder... I did go out with 3d bass

Mine cranks really loud, sounds especially good with some dirty UK grime. Not as refined as some more expensive boxes. Try it out next time you're in the hood.
