hitachi quality ?

recently --
i got an 8180 and an 8290
been using them both --ALOT

good size/ weight/ looks and sound

plus they both seem to be very solid and dependable :yes: :yes:

any other opinions about these 2 models ?

the trk 8190 is a damn tank and hella loud when cranking out side ,i could hear mine clearly playing on the deck of a lake house and i was on a boat in the water a fair distance away and i almost went back to turn it down but nobody called the cops so i let play on like all damn day :lol:

yeah i had to think about, but in the end long live rock :lol: and i didn't lug it with me to keep it quiet :-D .

I actually find these boxes very attractive and a nice size & proportion too. Hitachi is a little underrated in my opinion but having said that I have sold a few. So they mustn't be amazing to me. I guess it's the lack of bass output or something. I love my 8610s though. Awesome boxes those.

Oh yes Greg ;-). Actually I've sold about 6 recently to get the 2 Grails.... M90 and VZ2000!!!! I let go of my Epsilon, SCR8, Hitachi TRK8080w, Sharp GF9191, GF767 and Lasonic L30...

I have an 8290, it's an excellent quality box, pretty heavy. It sounds good and the DPRS works on mine. I love the metallic sounding cassette deck, reeks of quality! It's actually one of my favourite boxes!

I love all hitachies. No "grail" status , so even better for us- can get em cheaper. Who dont, or didnt have one is loosing deffo :-P .

I love these designs....I tried to get a few of these when I was in Japan, never sealed the deal. I'm pretty bummed about it, hearing how good they are :-/
