Hitachi in the sunshine.

It was sunny in Manchester today so I decided to take a break from revision and get the TRK-8080E out on the grass behind my residences. Blasting out a bit of everything from Aretha Franklin, The Who, to Ninja Tune stuff with some cold drinks and a couple of mates. Top stuff.

Really like this box visually, it's probably the nicest one I own but I have to use FM tuner at the moment as the connection for the DIN socket is loose (it's ridiculously quiet no matter how loud the source is cranked and cuts out if you tilt the box about). Will open it up in a few weeks when I'm not so busy and pray for a quick fix.

Top box overall though, Stereo Wide works really well with rock music

Cheers for all the nice comments guys, the blue reel tape is just some cheap stuff I got off ebay in the UK, I got some red Reel Cleers on the way from the US, so can't wait to have the real thing!

, the Hitachis are some of my favourite looking boomboxes, even if the sound isn't quite on a par with JVC, Panasonic etc. They are on ebay in the UK quite regularly and generally can be had for quite a good price because they aren't the most sought after grails.

Nice box !!!
I love the looks of the huge Dust caps and cassette door window.
I like the way most of the cassette is visible through the door.
Its like the Telefunken Studio 1.

Reminds me of when I once had my GF-777 out in the garden, sat on the grass.

The thing is though, a blade of grass must have been tickling its Microphone socket......

The boomer let out an almighty loud sneeze......I almost threw a hot cup of tea over myself!!!!!!!
