Hit the Thrift today...

Picked up a speaker box I assume from a newer Home stereo boomin unit, RCA Titanium speakers in it..? $2.00
and a Faith NO More cassette for 25 cents.. then had a lil fun after I took the speaker cabinet apart!

I know I can't be the only one who sees it...

They are lil 3.5" woofs with a decent size magnet, I'll save em for a future boombox project...

Hit another thrift today and picked up these Aiwa speakers.. Got em mainly for the 8" woofs with huge Chrome dust cap!
THey measure 2.5" compared to my TC-999 which are 2".. No boomboxes there, but got the pair for 10 bucks..

Really? You have no Thrift Stores like Our 'GoodWill' or 'Salvation Army' or St. Vincent DePaul stores? They are hugely popular & Hip in my area wiith the Youth. They LOVE the Second hand Levis, and other Brand clothing. I buy all my Cassette tapes for 10 cents and my Vinyl for 99 cents. Retro bicycles, vintage stereo stuff.

Well we do have various charity shops, oxfam, heart foundation etc but none of them ever seem to sell any electricals. Maybe its do with health and safety

They are RCA speakers inside? Does the mag. have a stamp on it? They almost look like another brand like foster or seas or focal in a way. I wonder if they are just re-badged since I dont think rca actually makes drivers anymore.

You can pick up Vinyl & Cds - but never Cassettes :annoyed:

Never seen a Boomer in one over here. All my finds are from Fleas & ePay.

@ AP - I think your'e right about the Health & Safety over here - things have to be PAT tested etc.

The rest of you guys seem to have some great finds in your thrift stores.

The bag of the magnet is stamped East tec. 12 ohm 25 wts
