Hello everybody. Could anyone tell me please, which other models have the same cassette mechanism as the RX-DT505? (I know the 707 is one of them. Others, please) Thanks in advance.

Does anybody know if the connectors shown in the following pictures are soldered or not? The service manual only says "remove the connectors....". But no matter how hard I try they won't go out, and the only thing that I wouldn't want to to is to break any of those little cables.....

Can't really tell from that one angle, The deck is in front of you, and you have the ability to view from all angles, so you are the best to make that determination. If it does separate, there should be a row of header pins and you would pull away from the header pins.

As I said before, "no matter how hard I try they won't go out". But, on the other hand, the service manual says that, as one of the steps for disassembling the whole thing: "Remove the connectors J971, J951, CP301 and CP302." The two last ones are easy to remove. The problem comes with the J971 and J951.

The ends of the ribbon cable look to be locked in place by small clips that look to be pressed in when the top of the connector is pressed into place. The wires are locked in pretty good might be a matter of sliding a small flat screwdriver under the wire to try to pry upward one wire at a time. I know this is nowhere near as easy as it sounds.

Have look at this video. At around 1:11:00

It seems there is no need to remove these two connectors.
By the way, did you try removing the other end?
