Hi all, thanks for allowing me to join. I've browsed this site for many years and have always found it helpful. I mainly rebuild turntables, some receivers and amplifiers & re-foam speakers. Lately I'm on a Boombox refurbishing thing, turntables started boring me and I have way too many. So, I have I think 15 boomboxes now, 3 JVC RC-838's, 2 RC-M70's, 3 Panasonic RX-5150's, 1 RX-5250, and about 10 other smaller JVC's and Panasonics, maybe a Sanyo or 2. I've always looked around here and appreciate the good information from all of you. I did talk (email) with Norman from Analog Alley a few months ago about rebuilding some JVC Sliders. They are so hard to find. Fortunately 2 of my JVC's are 100% fine and the last RC-M70 I purchased was stored in the Original JVC Blue carry bag since 1983, so the sliders feel like new and all feel perfect. Anyway, just wanted to say "What's up" and look forward to being on this site, Rich

Thanks, Here's a few of them and one of my prized turntables which I fixed with a 3D Printed part. The RC-646JW on the top shelf I bought new in 1980 when I was 16 for $206.00 which was ALOT of money for a 16 year old kid to spend and we didn't have money back then. My dad thought I was nuts. He said "You could have bought another 71 Nova parts car for that price," and it was true at the time. It still looks and works like new. That RC-646JW was just the right size to carry around the neighborhood all night. I grew up in a Revolutionary War village, it was very cool, called "Continental Village" near Peekskill NY. George Washington probably took a dump in my front yard after chasing that traitor Benedict Arnold towards Garrison & West Point when it was still woods, and I'm not kidding at all. Cool place to grow up even though Lower-middle class families mainly, but when I was growing up it was all just "normal" to me, I didn't really know that we were borderline middle-class, no one cared, we had good times I can tell you that being a teen in the late 70's. Thanks, Yeah, the Pitch control is nice if you're a DJ, but this isn't a DJ Table at all. It was in the original box when I found it and it's a suspension table and the 3 screws to release the suspension (for shipping) under the platter were never removed, it looked new. The only thing that really ever goes wrong with these SL-1300MK2's & SL-1400MK2's is the plastic cueing cam inside shrinks with age, cracks and then the arm won't lift, and also it will drag the needle across the record on the way home to the arm rest. It is NOT fun to fix at all. I have contributed to a big write up on the fix on the Audio Karma and Vinyl Engine websites (along with other guys contributions) Rich
