Having trouble embedding pics & videos to a thread. If I use the {img} pic.url {/img} method, I get an error, 'not allowed' msg. How do I fix that? I use TinyPic for my hosting. It's fast, fewer ads & copy/paste friendly.

I could use the code on the old version of the forum & it worked like any other forum, but this version won't allow it anymore. Also, I get a 'page expired', if I take more than a couple of minutes to compose a post & then I lose all of my content. The old site would save the content of the post & allow you to try again & it would work.

Last, I have to hit the 'Post New Topic' or 'Post Reply' 2x to get it to work, every time I want to post. My bad or a common glitch??

Other than that, the site looks great & seems more robust & streamlined. I like the changes overall. :-D

The session timeout is too short. I just tried replying & in less than 2 minutes the "page cannot be displayed' happened again when hitting 'POST' button. Then everything I typed was lost. GRR!!! The old site would save the text & allow you to retry. Much better than this.

Anyway, yes I tried the Image thingy & then entered the direct link URL in the popup textbox but it gave me another similar/same error. Maybe try TinyPic to reproduce the problem.

Bobby, whenever I use the image button, IE will hang big time.
Perhaps it will easier to offer the same functions as when you start a topic. Much easier. :hmmm:

If you start a topic, you will see the option to upload files (photos) straight from your files. Once uploaded, much like on the old site, you simply click to add and embed. You have a specific amount of space for storage, so you pics may not last forever versus say linking them to an external site. It does however make it real easy to load photos. I believe the amount is 20mb of space. For YouTube I just attached the link. :-)

Are you saying the add attachment link is what we use to create inline images? I always thought that attachments in forums show up as a link, instead of displaying inline with the text?

That's how I've been attaching pics. It works. And would be much easier if it worked in replies as well. Functions pretty much the same as it did on the old site. :-)

Hey Freddie, the Reply box at the bottom of the page allows for you to quickly reply to a post if all you want to do is make a comment and not upload any attachments. It saves the time of actually having to click on a button to reply and waiting for another page to load. It's more of a convenience thing for Ira to quickly post his "I agree!"

If you want to add attachments and such, all you have to do is click on the More Reply Options button - sort of akin to having to click on the Reply button on the old board. That gives you all options.
