To all the aussies here have a great Australia day! I know the day is almost over but oh well lol.
ive had a pretty chilled one this year spent most chilling at the beach sunk afew beers now im kicking back, couldnt think of anything better! :surf:

Yeah mate i let the new Crown 950 shine in the sun today did a good job. Im hanging for my 850 to arrive it will do lots of beach duty.

Im pretty bad with my history but its meant to signify when the poms first landed in Australia im pretty sure and now we are all just a bunch of slaves that use the day as an excuse to get tanked even more lol so it csnt be that bad!

USAGE:"Hey pom, Australia has the Ashes back. "

:nonono: Captain Cook mapped the east coast some eight or nine years prior to the 26th Jan 1778.

The First fleet arrived a few days before the 26th Jan and the date is actually the proclamation of "ownership" ( a term that really doesn't suit) of the eastern seaboard of Australia for King George III. The date also has connections with other parts of Australian history such as the "Rum Rebellion" which happened some 20 years after the European settlement. The First Fleet was the original eleven ships sent from England to settle the new colony.

Lieutenant at the time yes, but officers are always referred by the highest rank achieved which for Cook was Post-Captain.

As far as I'm aware Post Captain was only a retired rank, surely he would be a Commander?

no matter anyway I'm just being pedantic.

Hows your Aussie day weekend? 300mm of rain and the back fence was blown over by 125km winds here. Hilariously funny.

You guys are getting pretty battered up there from what i've seen/heard on the news! we are meant to be getting your rain in victoria during the week but all w/e has been mostly clear blue sky, mid 20's and not a hint of rain so unless its going to suddenly rock up overnight, we will have to wait and see.
