Handle snapped on my rarest box, help!

Is that not already metal where it broke off? Or just chrome-painted plastic?

Juding from the insides and the sound it makes when I tap it it's plastic. So maybe I shouldn't replace it with another plastic one ? If anyone knows of a metal-handle 445mm across let me know.

it does look like from the nature of the break on the handle that if you just glued it,i dont think it would hold the boxes weight-maybe if you could glue it and somehow-not sure how-pin it too-that might secure it but it would leave you doubting its rigidity every time you used it
