This is why we all have so many boomboxes in our collection!

They all are different in many ways.

It is so hard to love only one brand and model.

both are sales gimmicks

there is nothing like the m90 high end :bow:

Having pulled an M9994 down to parts, I can attest to the build quality of the Sanyo.
The M9994 & M9998 are great early Sanyos but they are difficult to work on and as such, many are left in collections with disabled decks, tuners etc. Ever tried pulling a deck from an M9998?! :-)
My Sanyos have proven the most fault prone and most difficult to work on units for an electronics novice like me. :-(

I would say Pioneers are the worst! I have 3 high ends with tape deck issues that gave me lots of gray hairs.......grrrrr!
I just keep them for the looks, radio, line in and above all....the looks
