Friday afternoon.
There is 2 times in the year a big street festival with flea running.
Only touristic and commercial sellers around.
Impossible to find anything interesting.
Here a streetview:
Had not much time, so fast passing the dealers.
Then i heard some pumping sound.
Impressive.
There was a CD dealer with a boombox under the table.
Wow, a KABOOM blue blinker.
Really strong sound.
But worthless to ask for it, not for sale.
Turned my head around and passed between the neighbour dealers desk.
Looked under the table....
Whoa, a big fat HITACHI!!!
And then the problem!
Have only 30euros left in the pocket. :'-(
But i was able to dump the price to 30, so this beauty came with me.
And here it is:
seen this unit a few times in the net.
But never thought it is so big!!
Radio works, tape needs belts
a few splashes from a painter on it, but easy to remove
love the VUs
backside also ok
Knobs, aerial, everything ok on it
never thought i would find on this tiny street flea something like this...
then something disappointing happened.
A young girl came the way, with a boombox bag (like on ebay sold)
I said something like "look, i got the thing that designed your bag"
She looked at me like:
"had no idea this should be such a big radio. I only bought it because i liked the look of it...."
Could it be, young people have no idea about old boomboxes?
Maybe...
The 2nd happen was more likely.
Passed a few recycling containers on the way home.
Hey , what is this one on one container?
Took this poor rampaged LUXOR with me
tapedoor missing, but fully working.
Parting?
Custom job?
Will see...
