Friday afternoon.
There is 2 times in the year a big street festival with flea running.
Only touristic and commercial sellers around.
Impossible to find anything interesting.

Here a streetview:

Had not much time, so fast passing the dealers.

Then i heard some pumping sound.
Impressive.
There was a CD dealer with a boombox under the table.
Wow, a KABOOM blue blinker. :w00t:
Really strong sound.
But worthless to ask for it, not for sale.

Turned my head around and passed between the neighbour dealers desk.
Looked under the table....

:jawdrop:

:jawdrop: :dunce: :jawdrop:

:jawdrop:  :hmmm:  :-) :w00t: :-D

Whoa, a big fat HITACHI!!!
And then the problem!
Have only 30euros left in the pocket. :'-(
But i was able to dump the price to 30, so this beauty came with me.
And here it is:

never thought i would find on this tiny street flea something like this... :agree:

then something disappointing happened.
A young girl came the way, with a boombox bag (like on ebay sold) :w00t:
I said something like "look, i got the thing that designed your bag"
She looked at me like: :dunce:  :hmmm:
"had no idea this should be such a big radio. I only bought it because i liked the look of it...." :-/
Could it be, young people have no idea about old boomboxes?
Maybe...

The 2nd happen was more likely.
Passed a few recycling containers on the way home.
Hey , what is this one on one container? :w00t:
Took this poor rampaged LUXOR with me :angelic:

Nice flea score on the Hitachi! The Luxor has some JVC flavor. Will you modify it or get parts? :-)

Now that's a good snag Roman.

The girl with the bag seems to common, most youth are clueless to the boombox culture of the past.

Hey Roman. How about photographing it next to some other more common boomboxes so we can see how big it REALLY is. Because by itself, it's hard to tell.

@SD: will do so. The size is really impressive next to usual boomboxes.
But the PHILIPS soundmachine will blow it away by sounding without doubts...

@oldskool: will take the LUXOR in the cellar. No parting yet, think i will try to save it. ;-)

@nz: wow, that is a really great one :w00t:

@dale: the HITACHI got rebelted and cleaned.
Is fully working now.
forgotten to post pics, will do that later.

the LUXOR is still in my cellar.
reproduced a tapedoor (off a smashed AUDIOTON), but the tapedrive seems to be finally dead.
first it was working, but then it smelled burned. Maybe was it wet inside.
But i was not able to kill it
