If it were a one-piece it would be an absolute monster... this is a MASSIVE box!!
One day I hope to find the next model up with the slot cassette deck.
I had a strangely comforting and good feeling when I woke up yesterday to go Christmas shopping. Turns out I was shopping for myself most of the morning with my finds..
I turned up at the tip shop for my weekly hunt.., I went down the path to the electricals shed, vaguely picturing everything I'd ever seen inside and envisioning what I might see this time. As I entered the doorway my peripheral vision showed me a familiar and beautiful upright-rectangular shape which I instantly recognised as being the end of a boombox on the top shelf... even though I knew what it was and came around the front of it to get a better look I still had to question myself as to whether I was actually seeing this right here in front of me!! And it was really there! A monster Marantz PMS-7000! In fab condition apart from one little button cover missing!
So I put a hold sticker on it, went and did my shopping, and then raced back to collect my treasure! There was a nice Walkman with vinyl case and radio cassette insert on the shelf below it so I politely asked if it could be thrown in with it and I got a yes!
Then on my way home I saw a new secondhand store opening... I did a U-turn and went in, hopeful for more blaster action, but the didn't do electronics... but I did walk out of there with not one but TWO Art Deco standard lamps for a mere $20!!!

I live those things
So a good day for me!
