Actually one Vinix should be enough.
Won't work...Ira has one...and a Delmon (Vinix Twin)...

Perhaps a three way trade could be done? :hmmm: But wait... Who would want to be involved in a three way with Norm and Ira? :w00t: :-P

no thanks norm --
i can think of NO boxes that would make a trade for this --

but --can anyone offer money ? plenty of it ,,,,,,,,,,,,

or guaranteed peace on earth - forever :-)

This is where all those people willing to trade their NIB bombeat 40s need to speak up if they want to own this piece of history. And by history i mean a piece of memorabilia graced by the brief ownership of the one and only Ira and not the fact it's a rare bird gold conion.

Sex, Power, Money.
Ira says he's only interested in money. 2 out of 3 ain't bad but i'm unsure how you get those two things without the money..

Wow, congratulations Ira!
This is one of those finds that you just remember forever and that box will always be really dear and special to you :).
I have seen a mint golden C100 in the felsh in a local collection and it really is a nice unit.
I asked the guy if he had offers for it back then and he said the higest current bid is 3000€ at the moment.
Hope you got yours for a little less :-)

thanks max --
i have been in a real good mood since i got this gem -
so -- lemme tell part of the story .......

first -- my story would be $$THOUSANDS better and more exciting if only i could report that i lucked out and just
found this sucker --abandoned at the fort lauderdale beach !!
some members here do actually post angellic events like that....

however --my story is more like the opposite of that -
but -- still ... with plenty of EMOTION involved
---------------------------

this seller did know what it MIGHT be worth on ebay --
so i had a very weak position of ' negotiation '

he asked via phone for my best top offer --
one thing for absolute SURE is that i couldnt bear to ever see this one on ebay :sadno: :sadno: :dunce: :judge:
and have to wait the grooooooooooling 7-10 days to find out if i could win it-
so - i knew he needed an ' inviting//tempting ' offer

plus --i somewhat convinced him that ebay reeks with huge $$ risks of shipping and nasty buyers, etc etc

anyway --i decided to make ONE big firm ABSOLUTE TOP offer --and that ' nothing in this world ' could ever make me pay a penny more
( yeah right ) :-D

heart beating 185 MPH -- i shot him the $$ biggie --
he comes back with even $200 MORE :annoyed: .... plus he wanted 2 NIB metal reel tapes :dog: :-)

hOLy sHNikEYS!

Your top $$$ offer + $200! It's like getting laid your first time then getting kicked right in the NUT SACK afterwards!

I Am Legend
now keep in mind that i KNEW he is a flea market//pawn shop buyer -
but WE ALL KNOW --that what he paid should have NOTHING to do with what its worth to us -- RIGHT !
that right .. but still ...........

anyway --the 2 metal reel tapes were ' in my range ' :-D
but the extra $200 was a big extra struggle for me

here are the factors that rationalized me into CAVING :::

1. where and when was i ever gonna find another good one-- ( i think ? gordie may want $5000 !!!)
2. "we only live once "
3. losing it to ebay would have been a lifelong disaster
4. my entire collection has been funded by loans anyway :dunce: :dunce:
5. and finally -- the peer pressure from you guys re being THE LEGEND = an overwhelming burden :-P
and what kinda legend would let a gold c100f pass by ????
-------------------------------

the best part of the ' firm deal ' was that i had NO $$ obligation
till i actually saw it in person and tried it with my 10 Ds ..
so --i could have driven down there -- if i didnt like it --just left it there ...
and called it all ' a day at the beach ' :-)
THAT really made the extra 200 viable
----------------------------------

as soon as i first saw it   --i whipped out my wad and the 2 tapes :-D
===================
seller was a real good guy --seemed pretty happy also --and he gladly wrote down my short WISH LIST for my future box buys ...

on the nice ride home - i was thinking how foolish it is - to spend this kinda money and emotions on a freekin boombox-
but also realizing ............ perhaps i really am ---THE LEGEND :-D

thanks to all members for your kind understanding and loyal attention

Wow, what a totally rare and fatastic box. Plus a great story, im sure all of us who read that have had those exact same thoughts for rationalising a boombox purchase (apart from the legend stuff off course).

And......

"It's like getting laid your first time then getting kicked right in the NUT SACK afterwards!"

This made me laugh my arse of, Thanks Joe.
