Glimmers of hope

Out talking to a couple thrift store managers today and it looks like more than a few people have been complaining about the electronics being sold to the recyclers. While this might not mean shelves filled with grails it does appear that there is a lot more vintage electronics on the shelves . One of them told me it took almost 20 percent out of his stores bottom line.

This whole deal still gets my goat

I went to the head office of a major recycle place a few years ago and tried
my best to pursuade the manager to put aside any boomboxes. I told him i could be there
on a regular basis and anything that was of no value to me (eggs) i would put back in the
recycle pile. He said nope, everything had to be scrapped !

Hopefuly Bill there may be some changes by the sounds of this ??

can't understand why people act like this, normally u can talk with them, sorry but for me thts just stupid.

i would chill the whole day especially on saturdays on a recycle place waiting for boxes

Here in Los Angeles, they are really pushing "E-Waste" collections. The rule is, if it has an electrical cord on it, take it in to be recycled!

Damn scary I tell yeah!

Post flyers around that place with $ for boomboxes, with big unmistakable pictures.
Bomb that place with them. You'll get some bites.

You know I think in Japan you cannot sell electronics that are over a certain age anymore..... This can't happen here it's just not rght.
