Hi everyone, received this guy from a member here -in a different post a few days ago commented on manufacturing new doors for it -the post is gone? Anyways, it was missing both bottom compartment doors - after some hours and fun with Dr. Suess pipework :lol: Here are some pics of the reconstruction of them. Used a donor Sanyo 3 piecer , took grilles off , etched with a utility knife to break the edges neatly , used a metal coat hanger for the frames , then sanded inside the grilles and the coat hanger and soldered from the inside. Notice on 1 pic there is a small tab of grille material standing up - that is what keeps the door closed .

Next part will be to stencil the name and the model number on each door..

How many AKA's are there of this model around? I have one but mine isn't a Giant, nor does it have the '326 super watts' on it.

Hi Guys, it is a 4 piece unit.. Bottom bar loaded with subs, each speaker top left and top right slides up and out with 2 connectors, main unit slides rearwards to unlock, there are 2 connectors to the bottom bar.

The only aka I know of, is an Eversonic MX 19 , had one few years back there is a vid on youtube but recorded with lights going in the dark...attaching a few pics of the Eversonic..

@M40dotcom, What make is yours?

Thanks everyone - it didn't come without pain - the wife's "aren't you coming in to watch a movie? " when, in the height of completing the project! It's tough to walk away when you're almost done!

Hoping to stencil the "Disco Lite " and the "HK -900" on each door soon....
The doors are removable with ease, on each door the left hinge pin has 2 solder points and is longer than the right, there is one solder point on the top right to allow the hinge pin to be pressed over to remove..

Best, Peter

even though it looks like the disco battlestar it's kinda bad ass , i love the cassette holders option , you never know how handy those are till you actually have them.

Lovin that Qualimax! The speaker lites on top look like eyes!

@Kenpat, lol, too funny.. Hows the Prosonic 9850 treatin ya?

@JVC Floyd, yes they are handy to have, the right compartment takes cassettes with the case, the one on the left takes cassettes without the case..

Any other aka's anyone know of? Waiting for reply from m40dotcom..
