Hi all, been a while. Got a lot going on in my life at the minute but wondered if anyone in the UK knows off someone capable of servicing my Gf777. Belts etc need replacing etc.

Obviously don't mind paying but must be capable.

Thanks ed

Hi mtb_ed,

Our UK members should help you with that.

But why?

Why not you do it by yourself?

The owner of this beautiful site got step by step instructions for replacing belts on GF777.
All for free though...

Several reasons really,

1. I just don't have somewhere I can strip it down without it being in the way.
2. The time not to end up rushing and breaking something's.
3. Fat fingers
4. The knowledge really.

Docs and Deliverance are the pros at servicing in the UK. Docs is on here and S2G but Deliverance is only on S2G I believe. Both very skilled, 100% trustworthy, and really nice fellas...those are the two I'd go to first if I have a job I can't do :-)

Do you know where in the country they are?

My problem with servicing is not knowing where to buy belts from, and more importantly not having the faintest clue which belts to buy for which boxes. I don't mind tackling a job if I've got the right tools but rebelting is a no go for me at the moment. It always has been.

I just get multipacks off eBay and fit whichever one feels right...only admitted defeat on one box so far, my Sanyo M9990...just couldn't work out how to get to the damn deck and got bored lol

I just looked at that eBay shop Simon, just over £10 for 10 belts shipped. Thanks for the link. I may get a pack or two. Most of my boxes need a service deck-wise, so it looks like I'm going to be busy!

Shame about the Sanyo, Si. Even bigger shame that there isn't a HBOL for boomboxes! They do them for pretty much everything else after all:

Ed, I'd do this for you - parts and postage cost only - but I'm still working at a couple of other boxes for forum folk and can just about manage an hour per week at this time, so it would mean that yours wouldn't even see the bench before late summer and I'm thinking you'd want it done for the impending blasting season.
