What a ball ache some of these are.

Does anyone have any special tips to remove them? You know the ones, those that are really hard to move to get the old soft, mis-shaped pinch roller out.

I have a pin remover from a watch makers kit that works good to, took a while to find a strong enough one tho

Some of those pins are actually rivets and they are almost impossible to replace , your best bet it to replace the whole arm there's one c clip that holds the whole arm in.

Floyd is right! That is the best way to handle it.
Some are one end friction fit and the other like a rivet.
Either way one has to remove the whole assembly if you are trying to remove the pin.
I had luck with thin end mini punches.
I placed it on a wood board and punched it at the axle pin tip. The other end went into the wood. But be careful not to make the existing hole any bigger.
