I'm getting ready for a major camping trip for the 4th of July. I'll be bringing a nice selection of radios of course along with some other party favors!

Getting closer to the camping trip....
I little fun story to tie into Boomboxes....
This group I am camping with have been getting together since 1986! I have only camped with them the last 3 year, but have known some for 20 years.
Last year I met a friend of the group. An older gentleman, maybe in his 70's. A piano player extraordinaire. The man has countless self released CD's and is hoping to record 5,000 songs before his time is up! He performs regularly FOR FREE around Los Angeles at retirement homes and hospital lobbies. He is an amazing talent. He lives and breaths the piano. Last year he gave me a few of his cd's. AWESOME RELAXING music, the beautiful standards from a time gone by. Gene Oster is his name.
I ask my friend who is his close friend if he will be there this year. He thinks he might. So, I am bringing a portable Casio keyboard, that runs on batteries, I dug out a cable and tested it through my TRC-935. I also hooked up a mic and will bring that as well. If he shows up, I want to have HIS music playing through the boombox when he walks up and then provide him with the thing he loves most, a piano and an audience! If all goes well, I will try to record the performance LIVE on the new Sharp QT93 I just picked up. Wish me luck! I think it will seriously ROCK!
Aside from that, I will probably bring 3 radio's at least. The Sharp QT93 for sure, probably the Crown 950 and possibly either the Lasonic TRC 975 or the Sharp GF 777z as both of those have the line in connections needed for the keyboard!
