I saw this one years ago and passed on it. I've been kicking myself ever since.
Finally I get the second chance and I see it in a thrift again.
This thing kicks butt and is comparable to the GE blockbuster in sound. That's right.
Crisp highs and a bass knob from hell.
AUX inputs, phono inputs, grounding screws in the back.
No wires to connect the speakers if you don't want, just roll up the wires and tuck them into the cabinets to use the special wireless connecters.
This box has some weight and sounds great.

I know this is an old thread and all but just wanted to chime in...

I've been looking for a 5266 for years. Had one back when I was in high school. Loved it. Mine fell and broke beyond repair. Always wanted another one. One of the greatest IMHO.

One day...

One of the things that has always driven me NUTZ about 3 piece radios is the wires hanging off the back, unrolling when your walking, unplugging when your blasting or getting caught on stuff. I wish more companies would have done what they did on this radio  Friggen Brilliant!

Funny, thats the box I had in high-school too. Had my commodore 64 hooked up to it. LOVED IT! Took it to college got in a fight with my girlfriend at the time and through it across the room and broke it / tossed it.

Don't worry, I've watched them come and go off ebay for years and seen them in the $40 range unsold several times. Just be patient.

Cheers!

On mine it was one of the first things that I had problems with. The side connections went bad after about a year, then the thin cabling went. I rewired the speakers and at the same sime gave them more room to be spread out. Still... I loved that box!

Old topic yes, but I just discovered I had one in my pile of 'waiting to be restored' radios....just finished it. Moderately difficult to take apart but she sounds good and looks great
