Well, some of you saw this:
viewtopic.php?f=5&t=8965&p=114632#p114632

I got it and wanted to say thanks to the seller for giving me my first 3 piece box, EVER!

Not only that but to let you guys know I fixed it!

Installed MTX 5.25 coaxial speakers (60w :-D )
De-soldered "line out" RCA jacks from board
De-soldered "line in" RCA jacks from board
Soldered the "line out" RCA jacks into the board where the "line in" jacks were
Installed extra antenna I had laying around
Cleaned it a little

Everything works but the line out (who uses that anyway?) and the EQ still doesn't respond :-/ . Oh well, it was free and works fantastic now with the line in fixed, radio, and cassette fully working  .

Why do they stop working  ? Everything looks ok and in place, no obvious reasons why it would stop.

I'm not sure why.
I think it is something with the amp circuit.

I was gonna jump on this. Great score!! Did it have tweeters or those fake discs in it? Just wondering if you had to put tweeters in it or not?

The MTX speakers have a built in tweeter and capacitor and I didn't try to peel up the dynamat in the box to see if the originals were still in there or not. This thing gets pretty loud and the bass is solid and hits hard. Not really low Htz, but good.

So good to see her up and running again in her new home! Thanks for all the pics, blu_fuz. From what I could tell, the floppy speaker boxes themselves were actually probably the biggest issue with that model, aside from the drivers themselves (yep, those aluminum-foil-kazoo tweeters are still in there - I left them 'cuz they're shiny). The amp and tuner are still much stronger than modern stuff.

That PC-150 was my first boombox score, ever. The one that got me thinking that if she was just sitting there, there might be more out there waiting for me...

Good thinking on swapping that line-out for the line-in!

I didn't even power this thing up and test it before trying to swap those out because I just had to try to fix it and enjoy it all at one time. Thankfully it did work because I use my MP3 just as much as the radio and cassette. Thanks again man. I am really enjoying it. :breakdance:

BTW, those speakers I put in were a $5 rummage sale find from over a year ago. I knew I would need them someday!
