Basically I'm wondering is there such thing as a good FM transmitter, I'm not looking for a halfway decent or barely acceptable audio. Just I have a few boxes and it would be cool to have them all pumping out the same FM signal.

LineX (PLL digital) is better than others at the budget end of the market, I use one and it's indistinguishable from local FM broadcast material in quality terms. There are better (analogue) ones which can compete with the BBC if you're ok with assembly work and have a fine enough iron to complete the kits, Paul Stenning's UK Vintage Wireless forum has threads aplenty on this. :-)

Just to up the thread a little. :-)

Since I've got a few domestic Japanese stereos with FM up to 90MHz only and I don't want to mess with the tuner "upscale" yet needing a few stations "to the right" from 90 I've decided to opt for a decent FM transmitter.
Of course, I could have used the line in to connect an external tuner but I want the box tuners to go live.
So the search was started.
There are plenty of no name transmitters on the market but without reliable customer reviews that might be a long shot.

Much thanks to the forum experience on Boomboxery finally I have identified 2 ones to choose from:

C. Crane FM2 Digital Full Spectrum FM Transmitter and Whole House FM Transmitter 3.0

Though the latter is 2 times more expensive the bigger power eventually won and I chose Whole House. :-)
Luckily my wife happened to be in the US on business this week and on Monday Amazon already dropped the parcel at the hotel desk in La Jolla, CA.
Couldn't wait putting my hands on it. Will see how the re-broadcast from another radio will go.

I also have the Whole House transmitter. Member milosancho recommended it and we used his out at the Venice meet. I believe his was an older version though. Let us know what you think of it Alex, here in my area of California it's hard to find a station without zero interference from the FM stations sometimes, but overall I'm happy with mine ;-)

Sure buddy. Again, I could have simply used Line-in for connecting an external tuner whenever necessary and saved money but I do want the original tuners in stereos work.
Having read the reviews about the Whole House thing I don't think range would be an issue for my apartment and summer house, that leaves only transmission quality to be checked.

Another thing: Whole House range starts from 88.1MHz, so to use it with my Japanese domestic Pioneer
SK-900 I have rather a narrow freq window between 88.1 and 91 MHz but I think I will be able
to squeeze in.
Before hitting "Buy it" button I checked local stations grid in this freq. window and identified some gaps for me. ;) We'll see.

Great video with cool stereos, mate! Thanks for sharing.
IMO sound is so clear and resonant, now I couldn't wait even more to grab the Whole House.
BTW, I spotted that one of your Lasonics has МИШКА on the front, in Russian it means Teddy bear. :-)
How did it come Lasonic has this? Just curious.

Almost forgot: for such events like you had in Venice transmitter is an irreplaceable device.

Thanks for the nice compliment bro! And YES, an FM transmitter is a must for any meet. :-)

In regards to the "MISHKA MONSTER", LASONIC teamed up with MISHKA clothing NYC and street artist Lamour Supreme for a limited edition version of this boombox. Its a cool addition to the collection ;-)
