Im thinkin this time, pictures speak more than words. At first it was dirty, now not so much. Power button didn't work properly so i think i fixed it, but we'll see.. Cassette stops after playing few seconds, ill have to check that later. Im in need for 1 aerial too..

I agree the Silver looks like a lovely box, very classy and love the layout. That Hitachi is a puzzler, I have seen a few of these on EbayUK lately and they always seem to fetch silly money against the other Hitachis? I guess that is one of the higher end models and they have gained in popularity...

I really like the oversized dial on the silver, the Panny is a nice classic, I just can't love that Hitachi lol...I liked the look and eventually bagged myself one, but I was so disappointed by the sound and I didn't enjoy working on it either...totally put me off to the point of being slightly phobic lol. I know they're pretty popular tho. Congrats on a great haul! :-)

The guys i picked it up, told me something about the past of the box. He told me it was the best boombox in the shop back in the day when he bought it. I like it, but its not my favourite.

Yea, i have been having mixed feelings about that Hitachi too. But when i picked it up for 20€ locally, i have not regretted it. :lol:

Those Hitachi do sound like crap inside. But outdoors its one of the loudest boxes I ever owned. I took mine to deep creek lake and we could hear that radio loud and clear from an obscene distance.

Thanks for the kind words guys! I bought new shelf from IKEA and they are on display now.

Thanks! The shelves are made from metal and then whole thing weights like 40kg without anything on it. It can take 40kg for per shelf so i think im safe :thumbsup:
