M90 also got one hidden screw when you take the chassis out. It is not mentioned in the manual. It is one screw #8. I'm pretty sure you know about it. Like you know don't forget to press eject and leave the cassette door open when you pull the chassis out.
I also don't have a workstation. I use a 4'X2' Home Depot card board over my big dining table for the work. I also lay several sheets of paper on top of it. I have sheets of styrofoam and soft foam to support delicate parts. Each screw I remove will go to a styrofoam board showing the position of it. For cleaning the dust cap, I use the Pledge cleaner and cotton swabs. I spray a little Pledge on Al foil, wet the cotton swab and gently clean the dust cap making sure to change cotton swabs when it is slightly dirty. I pull a little of the cotton from the swabs to make it little softer when you clean with it.

HI Lopez,

Thank you so much! :thankyou:

They are becoming so rare and some sellers are really making use of the situation. A few years back I've seen M90s in mint condition go for $300 on Ebay. I was so stupid not to buy then.

I treasure it! I'm enjoying the fine quality of this beautiful boombox.

 Yup u so right, I sold 2 M90's for way less and traded another, But the most important thing here is they all went to great members here. :-D  I just got lucky and ran into one with a brand new in the box remote control just last week. :w00t: So I guess I'm back into the prestigious M90 club.

Hi boomboxlover,your welcome!
I think i may do this within the next couple of weeks! :hmmm:
I just did my M-70 and it was very easy!
If it's anything like that I will tackle this.
I just need to know what to clean my woofers with? :hmmm:
I have a couple of stains,I've cleaned up chrome caps before but
I want to be extra careful when I do these.

Thanks again for the pointers and take care of your new special
acquisition!!
Have a great week-Jeff. :-)

Hi Jeff,

Except for the hidden #8 screw (note: #8 is also longer than the #6 screws) I mentioned before and removing the "A" to "H" connectors, things are pretty easy on the M90 to slide the chassis out. When you put it back, align from the back, watch from the front, and very gently push it inward. I didn't run into any problems. Once the chassis is in I would put the top two screws #4 on either side of the handle and the bottom two screws #5 also before we put the inside ones to hold the chassis. The M90 woofer got a light polyurethane coating, so you will be able to remove the stains much easier. Use cotton swabs moistened with light soap water and try a small stain area. The cone paper will not get wet and deform because of the coating on it.

Hi Boomboxlover,thanks for the tips!
I'll have more confidence now when I tackle this!

My M-90 needs a good interior cleaning along
with the woofers.
Plus hoping to get my deck some new belts which
hopefully wil get my deck going.
Love how yours looks so good, didn't look that
good I'n the auction!
Have a great week-Jeff. :-)

Hi Jeff,
I know you will be careful with the connections but wanted to remind you to take pictures of the interior and label the connectors to where it belongs. There are a couple of 3 pin connections where one can go wrong. If the power connector to the main power switch goes to some place else that would can the power supply and cause some major damage. The pictures of the connectors would really help, so also labelling with same numbers on the male and female sockets. It's very easy to make one big mistake!

LLopez, that isn't the remote for the JVC M90!

The original M90 remote is the R-15E. The R-30E is another model that all functions are working on the remote when hooked to a M90. The R-50E is NOT the correct remote and only some of the remote functions work when hooked to a M90......

Here's the R50E that I have. And it only seems to work to play and stop the M90. Again, not sure what other boxes it actually 100% works with, I don't have any other JVC's with a port for it.
