Been holding off on price to come down for a while on the 3 speaker TDK from original starting price of $500 :-). Just love how it has Iphone looks and this thing is so beast... after seeing and hearing Joe's I definitely had to get one soon. Well for $225 brand new from Woot and shipped to my door in less than 2 days I was astonished :w00t: Had to part with my JVC Kaboom but it was well worth it

Congrats Bill!

This is one of the best sounding boomboxes to my ears in the evening...i LOVE it...and who cares about it looking "modern"...most of us collectors have dozens...if not hundreds of the nice vintage style boxes :-D   . This TDK is a must have.

I love the look of these and would have no issues having it on the same shelves as my vintage boxes. I reckon it's a good tribute to them and having heard one in a store I'd get one if they were as cheap in the UK! Congrats

Nice.
Yeah that is a very good deal, definitely.
I am curious why it doesn't have a bass port on the back, but the 2-speaker model does? :hmmm:

Bass port is there to add bass
a sealed box shouldn't need one with the sub in there

I LOVE the looks - and she WILL be mine
how could you NOT like the design  ?

Thanks guys :-). I am very happy with this unit  I'm not sure why there is no bass port but this is a definite a must have box ;-)

Bass port is cheap engineers trick to get lower response

but at the expense of tightness and "speed"

I normally shy away from home speakers with ports

Not sure about that but the port allows air to flow out to increase bass response. Ports are specifically designed in size for different applications ;-)

Congrats, your gonna love it.............haven't touched my other boxes since I got mine, although sometimes I'll hook a M-90 up to her just to blast off!

Congrats on getting that beast - you sure have been patient waiting for the inevitable price drop!

So how does it sound compared with your grails?

James.... :-)

Thanks guys  It sounds fantastic and all I can say is that 30 plus years of new technology of course will be better in sound, although you can't beat a good old unit while playing tape or Record :-) There's nothing like it ;-)

That was what I always believed too. You gotta no e air to get more bass. Free the speakers movement - get more bass. Congratulations Bill. Ill get one last.
