blah blah said:$476 seems pretty high for shipping.
I totally agree.oldskool69 said:No way shoud this box coast that much. I'd be very, VERY leery of what your being told. Especially if your buying a broken one.![]()
Even with a really good packing job, you shouldn't be paying more than $200. Something just doesn't add up with that...

(This does not include costs of packaging...but it won't cost $200 or more in materials.

With much perseverance, I messaged Peter ( stynger 007 ) for a refund. He did offer it and I was reluctant to accept as I have looked high and low and truly felt that this was the box for me. He is a top bloke but you have all raised valid points, one that really got me thinking was Gluecifer's comment about the damage. Too true, so with much regret I have decided to not proceed. Now all I need is to get the money back but I'm sure that shouldn't be a drama.

Patience is the number one virtue to uphold in collecting ghettoblasters.
One will turn up eventually that will be in better condition and be able to be shipped reasonably. You've done the BEST thing you possibly could have by letting all the brothers of boomboxery know you're in need of one, now it's just a waiting game for all the planets to get into alignment.
The main thing I'm concerned about is that the damage to the case could get far, far worse in transit, then you'll be looking for another one and that's not a good place to be in.
Patience will pay off in the long run.
Rock On.
Spot on Rick and good advice.
