So, I finally worked up the motivation to put up some shelves for my boombers. Even though my collection is small by most of your standards (only 13) they were strewn all over the place and starting to become a source of annoyance with my very tolerant and supportive other half. Plus, we have a 6-month old who is showing signs of serious speed crawling to come!
I have been feeling for the last couple of years that the boomers deserved a proper display space! This is pretty much what I had in mind: http://upload.pbase.com/image/116921111
I used special mounts that open and expand behind the metal wall studs. They are extremely secure!!!!
The pic shows 10 of my 13 boxes. The JVC PC-3 on the very left of the pic is awaiting rebuilt original speakers which are out getting repaired now. I should have them back in a couple of weeks). And the M90 is just too damn big to put up on these shelves.
Missing from this pic are only my Panasonic RX-DT707 (which is in my son's room to play lullabye CDs); my Toshiba RT8940S (which is getting some tech TLC) and the GE6035-A, which is getting a paint job.
