I don't honestly think (hope) anyone here is that insensitive, it just that tipping before hand (of service or an inspection of pick-up order, lol) is prudent.

Tip jars lend to an assumption that really does more harm than good in my experience, and I was one of those servers in my day. Kharma, respect, and tips for that matter, are earned, not given.

Anyhoo, sometimes we just need to vent! Thinking of/with ya Floyd !

The problem is the low wages US employers get away with paying workers. The only 'tip' jars we have here in fast food shops are charity collection boxes. The Aussie minimum wage is $16.87 AUD per hour - sure beats $7 USD!
Higher cost of living here though!

Isn't Obama trying to change that to $12 or similar? About time. Not much better here @ $10.70 or about $8.50 US
