Where I live in Ventura, California there is a place dubbed the "Hobo Jungle". Since the 1940's, homeless people have been living in the thick underbrush of the Ventura River near the 101 freeway. Of ALL the people that beg for money on the street, THESE are the ones that piss me off the most. Born in this country, known the language since birth and they beg for money. My wife has to lock the car doors to keep me IN THE CAR because I want to get out and beat the F'n hell out of them.
They do their lame little tambourine / drum circle crap, with their dog sitting next to them while they smoke cigarettes. If you got money to feed a dog and buy smokes, then I have the right to kick your teeth down your neck!
It is so bad that the city put up "Don't feed the homeless" signs. Many of the local businesses are crippled and there are many more we won't go into because we are sick of being harassed on the way in and on the way out.
It is estimated that there are over 100 people living in the river. There are video's on youtube of the many clean up attempts of them pulling 50 tons of debris out of the river. These bums have built 2 story shacks with solar panels, batteries and lighting. If you can do that kind of engineering, you can work someplace! If the rest of us have to pay rent, taxes and be enslaved in the system, these healthy, able-bodied losers have to do the same.

what really sucks is if had to be a bum i would prolly shoot myself or run in front of a bus because i know that these cunts would not give me a ****ing penny and i would not ask anyway because i know how murphy's law works + douche bags get over while decent folk suffer.
it's bad where i live because the cost of living is some of the most expensive in the country and its not worth it for what you get for suffering through these maggots i gotta deal with daily.

Now, all this being said and not meaning to contradict anything I previously said, I do tip for good service.
There is a local take & bake Pizza joint I go to (like Papa Murphry's) once a week or so and there is one kid there that always makes my pizza the way I like when requested with the onions on top of the cheese, so I do tip him, and make sure he is working when I order . The other pissants there say 'what's the diff?
What's the diff????? Cause that is what I want and asked for !!! They see me tip him and I can tell they are going WTF? Too self absorbed to get it, ugh. So. . . stay at this wage and whine for a few years I guess while your bud is putting gas in his "Better than your Tempo" and getting laid 'coz he gets it! .,

Depends on service & yes, tipping does give an incentive to be a good server,e tc. If you think the service minimum wage is enough to live on alone, then go work for a pizza place & find out fast how quickly your check is stripped away by basic living expenses. Would you want your kids, or your mom, or your sister, or your brother to have nothing in the tip jar to go home with after sweating all night in a dive making 6-7 bucks an hour or less?

The really sad reality now is that service jobs that are often only part time are the only stable long term employment now for grads that paid +$100,000 for their certificate, only to be faced with greedy jack-boot CEO's that think unpaid internships with no guarantee of future employment are the next best thing in bleeding the employee until there is nothing left.
Right & I'm not supposed to tip because of some sort of pre-conception of the person on the other side of the counter being spoilt or having some sort of 'entitlement' attitude. Well, maybe we should look in the mirrors & wonder who really feels entitled to be kind of selfish & condescending towads a server you know nothing about.....kind of small minded in my opinion & not very generous in nature when really we are talking a couple of bucks, here & there. I think this group can affort to be when they are stock-piling grails to the ceiling for fun while college kids make tough choices about what they can eliminate from their budgets since they only clear 800 a month from their crappy job, in a city of +10% unemployment. It's not like good manufacturing jobs are falling from, the sky & we should feel lucky we are not in the same position & pay it forward by tipping to the jar, IF the service is good, despite your irk.
Sorry but I know people in the service industry that are good people, smart, hard working & generous in nature so try to look past the FOX NEWS crap about tipping & realize moms, kids & even some elderly CANNOT survive without that small gesture to tahnk them for their good, reliable service....
