Hey Chris, interesting you also have an intest in the aerospace. My Dad, and Grandad worked at the RAE (Royal Aircraft Establishment) and my Uncle at the NGTE (National Gas Turbine Establishment).
Both sites are fairly local to me and i reckon i would defo be working at one of these sites now had they not closed down.
They say its progress, i say its totally ruining the local area of its history.

My Dad - now well into his 80s and still racing (and competing with me) in the Scottish Autotrader series - worked on the design of the Vulcan's harness when he was doing his National Service in the Air Force and was based up the coast in Lossiemouth back in the heyday of the most beautiful aircraft ever built (IMHO, natch). He'd come straight from his apprenticeship and qualified in aeronautical engineering so it was a natural progression for him to work in development during his conscription period.
More recently, the team resposible for restoring what was then the only remaining airworthy Vulcan invited him to get involved in that project but he passed as his original work on the 'plane had left him totally mutton in his right ear, no ear plugs back in those days unfortunately and service personnel couldn't claim compo back then either.

That's cool how our dad's and grand dad's worked on this stuff....also glad we didn't use any of these ICBM's

Very cool Chris,love the sound of Ferrari's!
They are vert beautiful cars!
I have a red Camaro Z-28 I'm restoring,it's no Ferrari but is fun to drive and fast!.
