I just searched 43 pages of Google images related to the 777 - NOTHING Like This :no:

I then searched Yahoo.Jp for all the "Searcher" series - NOTHING Like This :no:

These are odd ducks in deed :hmmm:

I think it's a custom mod. The black labels are to mask the mistakes made in a home done job. I'll bet it's a charging indicator for a custom installed charger & battery, kind of like JVC Floyd's drill batterries he uses for his triple 7 mods.

Also, If it was a factory job, the labels would be screened to the silver tuner plate & the LED's would be the same thin flat rectangular kind to save cost & retain uniformity. It's a custom job for sure. I bet the flat led is to let you know the box is on AC & charging & the 3 green leds are a crude battery level meter or possibly a watts meter too. Who knows? If it was a rare model, you know someone would ahve it on their boombox site or blog somewhere.

But two different model boxes with exact same mod :hmmm: as for square and round LEDs used together there are many boxes that use different styles. If it is a mod it's a very good mod at that :yes:

Plus if you look the green LEDs are not sticking out but behind the shaded black which give the distinction of a factory modification. Each led has to be inside enclosed chamber so as no light shines through to rest of shaded area ;-)

I seriously doubt it's a custom mod.

First, we know that there are at least two different units with this same exact feature.
Second, the work seems too precise for a home-made job.
Third, the printing under the LED also indicates pro-level work done at the same time the tuner fascia was made.

Chris's speculation, that these are late-production-era models from the factory, seems to make the most sense.

....I wish I could get my hands on this just to find out....but I will side with Bill, I don't think someone modded this in their spare time, I think it's some super rare factory anomaly.

Ain't no doubt, the blood hounds on this site are tracking them ALL down!

Those pictures say it all.....This is a factory job....and like so many said, it could be a battery meter...

May never have been sold to the public, like Chris said it may have changed hands within the factory. Who knows.

unless these are remakes of the original 777 kinda like a korean c100 this might be a korean gf-777 i have not seen a pic pic of the back of the case :hmmm: :hmmm: :hmmm:

I have a 777H and a 777Z and my H doesn't have this feature and I know
that my tuner window is lighter grey In color. :hmmm:

Everybody go home and check your 777s STAT!!
Also, we should write to the Chinese guys and see if they have any of these in stock!!
