Today I find SHARP 777 for sale in ebay.com.
But this Sharp looks different. Look this picture in red rectangle:

What is this indicator and this black line??? Maybe it's custom work??? :hmmm:

Wow, never seen that. If it is custom made it is pretty damn neat job. Precision work from a factory line to my eye. Peculiar indeed.. :hmmm:

i did not see him disclose that big crack on the top of the cassette side ,i guess he did not want to alarm anyone,if not shipped correctly and a blow on that side you can imagine the rest :sadno: :sadno: :sadno:

I saw something like that before . The right side in the marked area was a LED VU meter

That topic has come up about another 777 awhile ago. Strange :hmmm:

Based off the color of the tuner dial window in the picture below (gray, not blue) I would say it is a 777H, which is the same box I have but mine obviously doesn't have the LEDs:

My 777H:

The model in that auction picture looks like a 777Z, but wonder if there is a sub model number next to the Z :hmmm:

Sorry joe I'm broke... the seller did respond that the unit is a z... So this really confuses me all the z 's I have ever seen never had those features  so I would have to guess that was modified :-P

That's the 2nd one I've seen like that, you really think its custom?
I think it's custom work ( LED meter + other indicator) and it's the same boombox.
Look next picture and speaker in red rectangle.
Sharp from second picture have the same speakers.
This isn't original speakers, missing plastic elements.

It got me thinking. Left from these led's is a led with AC text.
I am starting to think that this GF 777 has a battery charging mod
And the LEDs on the right are a battery status device

IMHO I don't think this is a mod someone did, but possibly some strange short run at the end of the 777 series or even a one off. I just don't see how someone could cut a square hole for the single LED and the long rectangle one for the green round LED's. Also there is printing under the single LED which indicates it was silk screened at the same time as the rest of the tuner fascia.

I do agree that this is the same radio, just coming up again....Maybe it was a one off from the factory, a test radio. I was in the electronic's manufacturing industry for 13 years and these things do get created and never go into production. How it got into the world is anyone's guess. Possible created to test a feature that never went into production and ended up in the hands of an employee and then sold off and made it's way into the world.

Sound's strange, but we made incredibly complicated "One Off's" that cost so much in material's that they ended up on the manufacturing floor and were sold. They were test bed's for future of products. That's where I would put my money if I were a betting man!

Either way, it's a rarity. If you need that "Ultra Rare" box, just for the sake of being rare, this would be it.
