They look nice, the only issue is 100V only, no DC power.

Yeah, i thought so. I have a 100v adaptor. What about the tuning dial. does it go up to 108?

Or you could search Gumtree, FridayAd and PreLoved for the Mitsubishi branded version that runs on anything from 117VAC to 250VAC and has 87-108MHz VHF coverage. One of my students has one and sadly, it's considered inappropriate for staff to deprive the young folk of their electronic toys or I'd have been in like a rat up a drain months ago. The student in question is from Europe and brought it with when she moved to Scotland, so it may also be worth searching over there, but I've never seen or heard another.
If one came up today I wouldn't let the absence of the TV part of the Japanese FM band put me off because my LineX VHF transmitter only operates within the 87-90 area in any case. Solved!
