I heard it will be getting a modern engine, but they haven't announced what will be going in it. Anything will be better than the 140hp volvo engine they came with.

Volvo engine?! Dependable you would think but what's scary is that that was the norm for even smaller V-8's back then in 79-82'.
I think they were cool but I think they set that guy up if I remember right!😮

The 305 in the early 80's Camaros and Firebirds only made 150hp, I think. It wasn't until like 1985 when they finally added a 4-barrel carb and bumped it up to 190hp, and called it High Output.

And when the IROC came out you could get the 350 with 215hp, ooh boy.

Yep, they were pathetic at best!

But since you can get 350hp out of a 4cyl now (Ford Focus RS Turbo), they should be able to put something light and powerful in there. The 300hp V6 from the Camaro would work nicely.
