I have to set mine up on shelves some day.
So, I know black boomboxes are beautiful
But what swayed your decision to only collect dark boomboxes?

Frank, I think he goes for "LED Only" boxes... (preferably red) So, most of the Black Boxes have these enticing little lights! right Tony? Heheheheh....

Hard to say it was one minute decision. For starter - probably many years of DJing made me to like dark equipment with good readable LEDs for easy and best beatmatching ( anyway any top line electronic equipment is black - same for photography and so on and on, not the case with the boomers tough ).
Another reason is that at some point, i understood that is impossible to collect all and chaotic. "The all grails" way was ( and is still ) boring IMO - dont like to see same set up in any second collection and all my "wants" to be same like everybody else. I dont care about the resell or other value of the boomers. Dont want to have "most wanted" or "best" or so main stream wills. For me the most important is the joy, the nostalgia and the look. It was hard to give away all of my silver boomers tough. I miss em some times.
So whats better looking from black boomer with contrasting chrome and bouncing leds .
Quite easy choice actually
The only problem is that my hunting brings me mostly to silver boomers ( got 4 times WX-1 , 5 times 777 and so on and on) . But thats the way , isnt it

In live all this chrome and leds is something i never saw before and never thought it can exist. But at the end is something really simple and not a big deal to figure out. Black boomers tend to have more PA sound . The sound which is my favorite anyway. Im not a hi-fi bloke. Im more big hall partying person .
So the life is saying one more time - "less is more"
