First vintage box!

In good, but not mint, condition.

I'm not crazy about the nautical, wagon wheel tweeters. Also the hidden, ultra square woofers. So after a good clean up and deoxit on the sliders, I made a few key changes.

What do you guys think? I personally think it looks a lot better, and not so drab in comparison to the 975.

Not bad at all! I really like being able to see the woofers much better. Did you use tweeter grilles from another boombox or did you make those?

That really is an improvement It does bring it closer to the 975 in styling.

Nice work, takes balls to mod a classic like the 935 and pull it off

Those tweeter grills look a lot like the ones on the Sanyos (9994, 9990).

Hey guys, thanks for the compliments. Everything is from the box itself. I'll included some more pictures soon. I carefully dremeled out the spokes on the tweeters, then sanded them. The tweeter grills are the factory ones, just sanded and painted with duplicolor metalcast, which gives bare metal an anodized look.

A couple more photos. The most difficult parts of the project were the bezels around the woofers(first picture). There was a fair amount of bracing to remove from the center, and my dremel kept burning the plastic. This is a great site, I can't believe I never thought to collect these boxes until recently. More boxes to come!
