It's the same with having temper tantrums and soiling yourself in a public place. You can't get away with these things once you're out of childhood but when a kid does it then everyone's like; "Awwww, bless!"


When I was a tiny infant, Mother used to put me down in my Moses basket right in front of the family's ancient GEC Radiogramme and I'd drift off to sleep to the strains of Elvis, the Beatles, Patsy Cline, Fats Domino or Ella Fitzgerald coming from the set's 14" woofer - which lived at baby level behind a pressed steel grille a few Inches from my young head. I was a fussy rugrat as I'd never fall asleep without the music.
