So....I've been doing some TV show auditions....That's typically not my thing...but I have had a few call backs, so we'll see...

Today I had a call back for a TV show and drove down to Hollywood to a casting company to do my second "On Camera" audition and of course, I showed up with a blaster!

The first time I went to this casting company I should up with my Toshiba RT9990SM that I have modded with a Blu Tooth receiver. Everyone thought that was cool....Well today I showed up with the Lasonic TRC-935 also modded with a Blu Tooth receiver.

I parked on the street in front of the place and I popped the truck.... literally 1 second later I hear a guy on the sidewalk yell out "Look at that radio!" I look up and two young guys are standing there with jaw's dropped :jawdrop: :jawdrop:

Immediately we started talking and he asked if he could take a picture of the radio. Right then I noticed, this guy has a Blaster Belt Buckle :w00t: He said he was a DJ and loved vintage radio's even had a few. I told him about Boomboxery and he said he would be looking it up! I gave him my card and headed to my audition...

I walk in the front door and a guy, very vocally yells out..."DUDE, that's a Killer Radio".

From there I walked in and some of the people in the office remembered me...I did my "On Camera" and then people lined up to hold the Lasonic on their shoulder to get there picture taken

Next came the stories..."Oh, I had one in high school...", "I miss my radio", "where did you get it", "what did it cost", "How can I get one"....

All I could do was point them to Boomboxery...

There might be some new members signing up soon!

Crazy how people behave when they see these bad boys!

I love that feeling....Good times

Awesome! What kind of part are you trying out for.

Both of the the shows are reality shows....The one I went too today is called Tattoo Rescue, they are looking for people that F'd up tattoo's that need to be reworked.

The other is for the Sci Fi network.

If I get on either of these shows....I WILL have a Blaster with me! :-D

That's great Chris. I hope you go far in Hollyweird :-D It's a special experiece to see people demeanor change when seeing a Big ol' 80s Blaster. They're poker faces change. Their eye brows raise, a smle forms and they feel the need to acknowledge your Blaster. Many will compliment it, some will tell you of their radios as a youth. Such was the case with yours Chris. When I took my Clairtone C100 to Pismo beach (on the pier and downtown shops), I had the same thing. Skater kids, Surfers, Leather clad Harley Bikers, etc. They (at least) gave you a sincere smile if not more. Great way to represent Brother :surf:

It is interesting, because it is a totally REAL reaction, because I have gotten old people, 80+ that were 50+ back in the day, remember these radios...and they remembered THEY DIDN'T LIKE THEM :w00t:  :nonono:

Either way....it's honest

It seems we have a growing number of celebrities here. I was gonna let Him tell you but. I guess he's too shy but, I'm proud of him. Our Brother JLF has appeared as an extra on a few episodes of NBC's 'GRIM' which will be coming up in the next few episodes. He played a Cop (Gun & Gadge, etc.) He's on the left. He needs a donut in his hand :police: Srry Chris, didn't want it to seem like a hijack. I'm proud of both of you all.

Great story. I'd swear, I get just as much enjoyment watching other people enjoy my boomers. I love seeing people who would otherwise not break character(L.A., you know what I mean), trip out when they see it. What else would get grown men and women trying to pose for pics with a stranger. They are f*cking magic...pure and simple. Is there nothing a boomer can't do??? I don't mean to over do it, but seriously...they are the best

The moral of this story is.... Taking a blaster out in the real world is a lot more fun than having a bunch of minty ones just sitting on a shelf collecting dust! Gotta use these boomboxes for which they were designed! :surf:

Obviously you don't wanna bring out a "Super-special" box if people are gonna put their grubby hands all over it..

TOTALLY agree.

Blasting at home is one thing, but these things were meant for sharing...

You want a Party, bring a blaster...

you want to see people dance...pull there ear buds out and let the music fly!

It is a rare moment in our society when you can break down the walls and see the real people with out their "Little Lawyer" voice doing all the talking for them. Blasters really do help that happen.

These are magical pieces of plastic!

Thanks guys!
