Attitude seems to be a huge thing. In a previous job, I used to drive a lot of people to cancer treatments and got to know many of them well, as friends. Making a gross generalization, the ones who complained a lot, felt sorry for themselves, ie. focused on the negative 'now' and not the hope of a positive outcome, would usually fare worse. Good support, ie. family and friends, goes a long way too.
Thanks ford for the reminder for us all to get checked out. At 43, I'm overdue for that....
