Unfortunately I have been diagnosed with cancer. I have not been here for almost a week. Finally I was discharged from the hospital on Saturday. It seems that there is a plague running about here with members. Especially Freddie I hear ya' brother hang in there you'll be fine God willing!

People please if you have healthcare check yourselves cancer is an ugly desease. My surgeon removed about 12 in" of my intestine. The worst part was getting up from the hospital bed. You want to talk about pain I don't wish this on anyone!!!!

Hopefully on thursday the surgeon will remove the staples and inform me of the pathology results this is very important because it will tell you at what stage this cancer was in. I sure hope is not stage four because you're pretty much done in that stage. :'-(

I'm home now and slowly recovering by taking pain pills and getting bowel moments to normalized.

Once again I urge everyone here get a Colonoscopy done to prevent of getting cancer.

I just had a colonoscopy done just over a year ago. I am 27yrs old .

I am very sorry to hear about you having this, but hopefully they removed all of the bad stuff.

What I don't understand is that our society waits until they feel sick or when we get to a certain age to have things checked out. I am hearing a lot of horror stories about people being told that they have 2 months to live because now the doc just found something he can't cure. They say "it's too late, if we found it sooner.....". Makes me sad to think someone might die 15-20-25 years sooner because they didn't have a regular checkup to find these problems.

Insurance should pay for a 2-4 year checkup for major medical conditions - more like "preventative maintainence" instead of "sorry, too late" :nonono: .

Why not be checked when you feel healthy?

Get well :superduper: .

Colon cancer can be very curable if found early enough.
I wish you the best luck!! :-)

So sorry to hear about this.... my Prayers go out to you.

As an aside I have a bad feeling about my own health. And I have been too busy to do anything about it.... maybe I need to stop putting it off and go in. :-/

Juan we're with you brother and hope for the best possible outcome.

Had the Colonoscopy in my late 30's for another issue and everything came back clear, certainly hope it stays that way.

I humbly accept your well wishes guys.

I'm like Freddie I don't like to share personal situtations out in the open, but this is one that I had to. You guys are like family and sometimes awareness can help others so I'm willing to share this.

71Spud please whatever it is don't put it off go go go go!

I predict, a full and speedy recovery. :-)

But you are correct. Vigilance is important here. 3 (or was it 4) years ago, I had a colonoscopy and they found/removed several polyps that they determined were precancerous. So I need to be even more vigilant than most. In fact, I think it's time again for another exam.....

Thank you for your post, it's a very important subject. Everyone do your research on preventative measures, as well as foods that might help......Cancer is not good at all.

Broccoli
Blueberries/blackberries
Curry/tumeric
Orange peel......

Just a few things that have been shown to fight against cancer. On top of that, exercise always helps.

Wish you a very speedy M90 style recovery.

Seriously, this is a nasty disease but if picked up early has a great cure rate.

We lost my wife's dearly loved father to cancer nearly two years ago and we miss him every day.

Stay positive, get moving as soon as possible and back to full health.
