I still have my Radio Shack TV too! It's actually come in handy over the years. It's a handy way to check video-out ports in a flash, or to make sure it's giving out what you're expecting. When I was REALLY young and not so bright I'd sneak around at night and watch cable TV from other people in the neighborhood

And about the sporting events... when I used to go to Twins games as a kid there would be people with their own TVs because in the nosebleeds you couldn't really make out home plate all that well, so it was a poor man's Jumbotron. Micro-Jumbo tron. So, just a Tron I guess
I'm pretty sure that silver version of the Emerson was the one everyone drooled over on the bus in '85 when Joe Carlson showed up with one (back seat privileges, obviously) so after that we all started bringing one. I had
this unit and served me well, I'd fall asleep to Johnny Carson, Cheers or the Jeffersons with it on its side in bed
But yeah, swapping out the TV with an LCD screen displaying something interesting, or a space to add your own set of controls and/or connectors, maybe some USB or memory card slots, or a small compartment for stuff

Lots of possibilities!
