Chrome on plastic

I'm working on a restoration, and the box didn't have a play button. This is as close as I could get with 3d printing and chrome model paint.
I think maybe it could be better if it were actually chrome plated, but I don't know if that's really possible at home.
I can post the 3d files somewhere if they would benefit anyone else.

It's not. The chemicals are banned for personal use; too dangerous (hexavalent chromium, lead, cyanide, etc.)

Great work replicating the button!
I've been pondering this for some planned restorations, have a look at Culture Hustle, MIRROR: https://culturehustle.com/products/mirror
To have a look at MIRROR in action the guys over at DipYourCar sprayed some speed shapes:

Culture Hustle is a creation of Stuart Semple, an artist who's really gone in-depth on the production of creative materials. I've used the glow in the dark powders (LIT) from them in a project and I've been impressed with the quality.
