After 2+ years I finally got the box I bought in '84 with my mowing money. Well not the exact same one but close enough. I had an Emerson MM815B and this is an A. The only time I've ever seen the B was when baddboybill tried selling it on here. You still don't have it, do you?

This version has a few things that got axed for cost-cutting in the B:
Tape door has brushed aluminum trim, not just painted
Tweeter grilles are actual metal, not plastic vents
VU meter has distinct steps for each LED, where the B did not, some were ganged
Mic trims are chrome, not black
Handle has chrome ends instead of one black piece
Not a great sounding box by any measure, in fact neither model even has tweeters, but boy did I get respect in 6th grade after I started taking it to class. My teacher was cool with me setting it right on my desk all day. The fun we had recording each other, those were the days

The memories that come flooding in from these radios is priceless. Its a cool lil Emerson
