Bill I hate you!!!! :-D

Love the plum crazy dude.

Now lets not diss the 80's Dodges. I loved the Diplomat and they had an awesome engine!

I was lucky to own a Diplomat still with the front strobes and search light. Whenever I was traveling down I-95 in the big apple NYC, I would turn on the strobes and just enjoy passing drivers as they thought it was a police cruiser. I still chuckle on that.

All this coming from a Ford guy go figure.

Thanks :-D. Actually the Diplomat had the 6 cylinder which was a better motor. It was the 4 bangers that had many issues

I truly miss that car the body lines were just bad ass, especially if she was hooked up with mags. I really enjoyed driving that car.

Um no……. you could get a 318 or a 360 in a Diplomat or Fury.
And don't be dissin the 1980's Mopars I had lots of them including Omni's and Horizons.
Did you ever own any?
They were way better cars that the Chevy Shitvette or the Ford Deathscort I know I've had those too,LOL!
They were good cars for the time and brought Chrysler back from financial ruin.
Here are a few scans of some Dodge Omni's me and my wife owned.
My first car a 1979 Omni My parents gave me for graduation.

My Wife's first car a 1984 Doge Omni SE.

My favorite car a 1986 Dodge Omni GLH. It was a riot to drive and handled like a go cart.
I loved surprising Mustangs and Camaros as it was quick, not really fast on top end though.

Here's the Horizon, looks like an Omni but not a single panel from one would fit the other and the Horizon had the brilliant Peugeot/Citroen XUD engine that could be fuelled with straight veggie oil for 50+mpg (Imperial gallons so bigger than US ones) motoring where each gallon only costs around a third of the price of forecourt Diesel, the only downside there being that following traffic thinks you're running a mobile Burger King on account of that cooking smell that comes from the exhaust:

There was also a Caprice station wagon at that show and I believe that their mahoosive V8 also runs on veggie but it might not have bettered the Horizon's economy. Boo hoo, Chevy please!

Most Diplomats had 6 cylinders. See here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dodge_Diplomat

I had many friends who owned 80's Mopar. My friend Larry owned a Chrysler La Baron with 318 and it was quick but he also had a Chevy Laguna which I thought was a bad A$$ ride with swivel buckets and a 350 motor. My boss from the news stand I worked at from age 12-17 owned a couple Omni/Horizons. He used car for work as a letter carrier downtown. So he put tons of miles on them quickly but eventually the cylinders lost compression due to holes in pistons. I myself never owned a Mopar til about 2004 when I bought a Dodge Stratus. That was a nice car and did real good on gas. Then in 2009 I bought a Dodge Charger and now the Challenger. I also tried to buy the Dodge intrepid back in 2000 but it fell through. Like I said Scott I worked at a Dodge dealer back in 85 and trust me when I say they had many with engine issues. I'm sure some got lucky but for the most part Mopar 4 cylinders sucked in my opinion. ;-)
