My brother owned 2 convertible vettes. A black "98" C5  it was fast  he bought it at a car dealer where a DJ from a famous station in Chi Town had just traded it in. It had a very expensive Borla exhaust I think he paid over $50000:-O he also owned a white "84" Vette  and when we were teens we had a hot rod " 75"Camaro with four on the floor. I took out 4 parked cars with :-O before it was totally overhauled. Then my brother blew away a "78" Camaro with a 454 big block ... We had a supped up 350

Personally.... I think straight line drag racing and oval tracks are BORING.

Give me a light car with a decent engine, tight suspension and a manual transmission.... then cut me lose on the track or some twisty back roads anytime. That's real driving. ;-)

WOW... great video FD!

The ZR-1 is a bad-a$$ car, for sure. Would love to have one of those in my garage.

On a related side-note, I still have that Paris drive you shared, saved on my PC and watch it from time to time.... That's a crazy piece of driving! (I seem to remember that the rumor was the Paris video was done in a Merc 450 SEL with the 6.9L engine, then audio edited to sound like a Ferrari)

I like closed circuit racing as well. Really the appeal of drag racing is it is one of the last forms of racing that is still affordable to a wide range of people.

Yeah! That was "Rendezvous". Here's a "making of" video of that classic short film. Be sure to click on the CC button to enable English subtitles.
