a fast test proves that when jumping the two pins, I get output fromt the left speaker!

OK. It does sound like your amp module is fine. Which is not necessarily good news. That's because a dead amp is easier to diagnose and find than issues in the preamp. Check the archives. Bredgeo recently had a GF-9595 with similar issues that was tracked down to a defective IC. You might have the same issue -- maybe that is a high failure part. Anyhow. might be worth swapping it to see. Not really the best way to diagnose but lacking appropriate diagnostic tools, parts swapping might be easiest for you. Good luck.

Ok thanks for the help. I have just bought a cheap signal injector that I need to put together. Hopefully someone will have a service manual already for this, if not I'll have to bite the bullet and buy one.

If it's any help, i OFTEN find the audio-coupling capacitors (incoming or outgoing from the AMP chip) are cooked by the heatsink, thus killing 1 channel...this could be a 50c fix ;)

Otherwise ageing/heated solder joints also interfere a lot too.

Well for the hitachi they are talking about in these posts. I also thought maybe they had an orietation standard like the color codes of a resistor. :hmmm:
