i got the 87 caprice today i was hoping to get earlier in the week.
i snagged it for twelve hundred bucks and well heres the impressions from the car.
it has no rust on it.
there is a ding on the drivers side rear door smaller than a silver dollar.
there is paint peeling off the passenger side rocker.
the interior is also in extremely good shape and there is a small hole on one of the seats but its really cherry.
its a 305 four barell. nothing to fancy but man does it ride nice.
i spent the day cleaning it and polishing it up.
i am pretty stoked to grab one of these at this price. i have been checking out the prices of these stateside and well they have been sky rocketing over the last couple of years. i have no major plans for this car other than a paint job in the next year and perhaps some work on the air con. the air con is not working but this is bc and air con would be kind of like having a snow plow in texas.
its a really nice box i mean really nice.
you be the judge . i mean i think the guy is telling the truth about it having 124000 original ks on it. it reallly is in super shape.

thats a sweet car man ,i know how nice these are and very comfortable and quiet riding too ,i love the old chevrolet's iv'e had 5 monte carlo's ranging from 1978 to 1987 i currently have a 1985 monte carlo ss and it sounds bad ass with flow master mufflers and rides like a cadillac ,gas mileage sucks tho lol, you got a great deal on that caprice cuz in the us you would almost never find one in that shape for that cheap.

The peeling chrome overlay at the rocker panel you could fix yourself. Not bad at all for $1200 bones! Plus when you fix the AC for those hot Canada summers  , you can convert it to R134.

the chrome is good the rocker panel paint is in trouble.
the galvanised coating it still on there but i seem to remember alot of these chevys had trouble with that primer. this car was garage kept its whole life and well i got it from the family that purchased it new off the lot back in the day.

We've got a guy around here who has to have at least 24's on one and let me tell you it cracks me up everytime I see it. The whole car is lifted about 6 inches just to fit these big donuts and it looks friggin hillarious.

Nice ride bill and the price is right.

theres actually a two or three inch strip of metal underneath the chrome rocker panel.
the bit at the front by the front wheel well that looks like death on metal is the reflection of the soap scum from the drive way.
i am going to snag some hammerite tommorow and some sandpaper and just roll it out.
well maybe not tomorrow because its supposed to piss rain outside here. lol

Yeah! Slam that slab, and add some classic Cragar Starwires or Trues. Keep it classy.

Those are becoming, if not already, a classic ride. The mom of one of my old girl friends used to have a silver Caprice with maroon interior. That thing would roll over speed bumps like they were made of cotton. Really smooth ride.

Hi Bill-Nice ride! Good deal for 1,200! VG shape & a 1 owner-fantastic! 305 4 barrel-good engine with more than adequeate power!
I have a 1966' Caprice I'm restoring-I love it-I had it when I went to college!
As a owner of many Impalas & a 1968" Caprice & 76' Caprice Estate wagon-They're great cars!!
Have a great time with it & don't forget to hide an emergency boombox in th trunk for outdoor listening when ever it might come up-plenty of room for it!-GB. :-)

Very nice Bill the chassis on those are built like a truck and those that put 22's, 24's etc... If they only knew that it will eventually hurt the tranny.

All you need is a leopard jacket, plush hat with a feather, bell bottoms, some nice 70's sunglasses & high platform shoes and you'll definitely be pippin'! Then again it would not fit with this one being that its an late 80's early 90's model.

Congrats on your new ride!!

in the first picture you can see the 79 stovebolt six impala we have had for the last seven years. its been such a great car but when i got it the rust was pretty bad in the trunk sill . the car tho has been extremely cheap to own and well anytime you pay 500 bucks for a car that lasts seven years your doing pretty good. i mean i had enough of new cars dont get me wrong i think some of them are pretty cool and nice. i dont even drive a car anymore out of personal choice, we spent about five hundred bucks averaged out per year on the old impala . it gets twenty miles to the gallon and if i dont have to worry about it getting stolen .
i even liked the fact it was a straight six. theres something about the gm six that is really cool.
the caprice is a really nice riding car in fact i was surprised at the difference between it and the impala. it seems a bit quieter and a bit more luxo .
honestly i think these are going to be vehicles that become collectible in the next decade . v8 rear wheel drive and old century quality. i mean my grandfathers new chrysler could run circles around it out brake it get better gas mileage but theres something about the ride of the old fisher bodied gms that cant be beat in todays world.
these were the taxi cabs and police cars of there day. for the most part they were over engineered and made to last.
i am glad i got mine while the prices up here are still low for them.
when i see how much they are going for in the usa i cant believe it. i mean i learned a lot from the days where i could buy a 69 skylark up here for under five hundred bucks to where you cant touch the same car up here now for under six grand.
i know its not a muscle car ,but there is something enchanting about these boxes. they just ride so good .

its got a decent stereo but.....
i usually take a box in the car with me to listen to .
yeah i am not gonna mod the engine. i mean if i did the only thing i would consider would be a true dual exhaust and maybe just maybe a set of headers but honestly its good as it is.
