You should try if it is possible to select raw setting for your pictures!!, then the quality
is second to none!!!

I have a 4 year old canun ixus70 7 megapixel with a 16gb card in it :-D
an my n8 phone is a 12 megapixel with a 32gb card in it :sin: :-D :agree:

jaetee--- or anyone

i just downloaded picassa-

dont see any RESIZE options ?
are there ??

thanks

Yes.... use the green thumb tack at the bottom of the screen to you have to select the pics you want to resize.

Then, you click on the export feature and can direct the export feature to resize your pics (without making any changes to the originals) and it will save them into an export folder wherevery you tell it to...

Ed's solution sounds pretty good for that too.... But the picassa software also has some basic, but good cropping, red-eye reduction, leveling and color correction features that are pretty easy to use.

Have fun learning...

update --

new OLD digi-cam not ready for the prime-time teenage bikini hotties--
so - today - for starters ,,,i stayed on the 'mature' side of the beach..and
practiced shooting old ( slow) folks in shutter priority

cant say the resolution is spectacular :nonono:
but --way better than my old old floppy disc cam -

and this wimpy 3X optical zoom --is useless
for any surfing -- offshore by 30 yards .

still --for close-ups --its good :-) :surf:

both pos & neg instructional comments are welcome

thanks rick --

now that i am our new resident pro --at hi rez shots - :-)
i was gonna chime in on your thread today --re camera advice -
but --thought better to stay out of it
---------------------------------------
still - i do think that for your main purpose -
of taking great close-up box shots ....

and since you dont need long lenses to shoot lions and whales-- at 100 yards
and you dont need special ' shoot in the dark' capabilities..

and you dont have to freeze race cards at the daytona finish line :-O

then just ONE great 50mm ( equiv ) lens --
on a new good body - can do the hi-rez magic for you -

and --my guess is that you dont need anything $$ close to $1000-
bet --400-500 will be plenty :agree:
