Is there any particular things to look at wheb buying a M70?

Dodgy sliders

Non working cassette. Not too bad to change the belt, but often the support shaft for the flywheel is broken and can not be fixed without replacing it. It's made of weak pot metal .

Sliders, if they are uneven volumes or cut in/out - not good.

Music search. If you want to use it, make sure it works. If not working, then it probably never will.

If the function switch/power switch don't work, often just cleaning them will clear things up.

i look at cosmetics first.. zoom in on pics too see surface scuffs. chips. find someone who has takin the time too show many shots. in good light. full front. back. sides.at there age hard too find one that dont have some kind of mark.. tuner glass casstte door good. not faded from sunlight. scanner must work. but some people have passed them down that dont know alot about the m70 and say it clicks when trying too lock it in. which means they dont know you have too have it on tape function too engage.. dial light that works. if it dont most likely not the light.. and there is a good dial light upgrade out there that is good! all inputs work! even phono and headphones, tested with battery power a must if you want too carry. slidders that dont crackle when lifted up. full complete anttenas.. not broken in any way. this may seem like a big check list for a 30 plus year old mahine. but if you take your time and dont rush you will find a owner who loved it like there own child and get one... best of luck!!
