I got this great PH490 from Autobot84 a few months ago and haven't used it much,I've been listening to my Sansui CP7 a lot. So i figured I would give it a break and bust out the Fisher........

Oh, so the Fisher will take the SAC05 outside, kick it blue & black, eat its tea, steal its beer and then run off leaving the smaller Technics for dead. Still, at least the 05 has wireless speakers. IN YER FACE, Fisher.

Yeah, I've owned mine since it was new in 1982 and was given to me as an 18th birthday present from the parents, The 05L has been amazingly unreliable but always worth fixing when something else breaks 'cos it sounds so good. Its tape transport is buried so deeply within the thing that removing it for its next clutch repair used to take around two hours. I can now do the entire job in under 40 minutes as the screws see me coming and remove themselves!
National Panasonic's similar looking boxes are so neatly built that it's hard to believe that the same company made them both, but hey, I was 18 and Technics was the cool name to carry around.
