Bose CD 3000 220v Model

Hi
i Just Got a Bose Cd 3000 but it's a 220v version of it
I would like to make it 120v without using a Step Down Transformer
it does have a 12v DC jack But when using that the remote will not work

can i just put a different Transformer in it?
let me know thanks
